This little ice-cream shop has been part of island life since 1954, when Raymond Berthillon began serving artisan ice cream from the family café at 31 rue Saint-Louis-en-l’Île. That is why this spot feels less like a grand monument and more like a neighborhood ritual, with nearby cafés sometimes marked by tiny “Ici, Berthillon” signs and the island’s stone façades and shuttered doors all around you.
